New In The Art Vault

Vintage Cat holding a Art Vault Creative Sign In Its mouth with whats New In The Art VaultNew in the Art Vault lots of digital crafting fun! I love when I’m able to release a ton of new stuff in just a week. That means I had a lot of creative time and energy and you get new things to check out. Its a win/win for sure. Big ups for the suggestions and feedback on what you’d like to see. I’ve incorporated as much as I could. I love hearing from y’all so thanks!

Now that Halloween behind us and Christmas is coming up fast of course there are Christmas related files with more coming though out the holiday season. However don’t fret, my Halloween stuff will be up year round for those who love the spooky season and those like to work on gothic inspired things no matter what month it is.

First up for the holidays some digital papers. These sets are monochromatic style blue and pink patterns. They measure 8.5 x 11 which is a standard American letter size sheet. Each set has 10 different pattern color combinations and work great for holiday projects when you want a little something that isn’t red or green. I love coloring outside the lines and thinking outside the box, who says you have to always use red and green. You don’t! these allow you to jazz it up a little with pink and blue.

These Christmas digital papers are also available in the Etsy shop too (for those with an Etsy preference)

Next up is some great ephemera. Starting off with Fussy Cuts! Fussy cuts are hugely popular because it’s such an easy and great way to add some flair to any creative project. Like a scrapbook or a junk journal. I have a lot of Fussy Cuts with all different kinds of themes but this new set is butterflies! Everyone loves butterflies and I have collected a very lovely set of vintage butterflies for you to use to adorn your projects with the fluttering little creatures.

Other new ephemera are some vintage labels. Not just any vintage labels these are vintage baby birds. These labels would be a great embellishment for any new mom project you might have. Birth announcements, new mom junk journal as a gift for a treasured friend who is just beginning her journey into motherhood or even as embellishments for a baby book. These vintage baby bird illustrations turned into labels of different shapes and sizes are from the 1800s. You can use them commercially if you are making something for resale too. Soft colors that are neither pink nor blue but soft yellows which work for any baby gender and also for those who are keeping it a secret until the big day.

Last but certainly not least is my favorite new ephemera set of faux stamps. Vintage Victorian lady faux stamps. Stamps are one of my favorite ways to embellish a journal or a scrapbook. They look good anywhere and you can do some much with them. Use them in strips, sheets or individually, ink the sides to make them look weathers and old, cut them out using different craft scissors for a different look. The possibilities are truly endless. This set comes with 20 different stamp designs, print them out as much as you want. You get both a JPEG version or a PDF so you can chose how you want to print them and as a bonus included is a sheet of PNGs just in case you are making an online digital journal. You can easily lasso the PNG you want and use them in all kinds of ways online. fun!

That’s a lot of new stuff! These files are also available in my Art Vault Creative Etsy shop if that’s your preference. My Etsy will remain live and updated. However new items are released here first. Buying direct from my personal shop helps my small business grow without me having to cut a third party like Etsy in on the deal.

Thanks again for all the amazing feedback and suggestions. I love hearing from you and of course I always LOVE to see what you’ve made using my digitals. That truly makes my heart go pitty pat.

Happy Crafting,

Lola

What Are Fussy Cuts

You’ve seen the term but you’re unsure what it means. Maybe your quilter friend has said it but you’re a paper crafter, how does it apply to you? Well fussy cuts can mean different things to different kinds of crafters ( just to keep it interesting!)

Originally it was a quilting term. Meaning to intentionally cut a piece of fabric that features a specific detail or image leaving nothing to chance. If you wanted to make sure a specific image on the fabric showed how you wanted to you would fussy cut the fabric so you could highlight what you wanted. People make some amazing things in the quilting world using this technique.

In paper crafting its a similar idea. Cutting out a specific image to emulate the quilting technique in a way so you can highlight that image in your paper crafts. Be it scrapbooking, junk journaling or collage. Papercraft supply creators like myself make packages of fussy cut images in themes. You still have to cut them out and use your creative energy in making the item you are working on but you don’t have to hunt though hours and hours of garage sales, or flea markets to find the images you want ( unless that’s your thing in which case, hello fellow image hunters!)

You can get collection of digital images you can print out and use however you like, collected for you. I tend to give you a cutting edge in a neutral tone but not all paper craft fussy cuts have a cutting edge. You can collect different themes (vintage birds, Christmas, florals) and then apply them as you feel that would work best on your projects. Imagine a whole library of fussy cuts for you to use over and over.

The quilters may have pioneered the fussy cuts but the papercrafters have made it their own!
